I was just wondering if anyone knew why chocolate would get rid of a headache? When more often than not it can cause headaches. I used to suffer with terrible migraine s as a kid but luckily I have grown out of them, just having the occasional one now and again. But I do still suffer with bad headaches and sometimes I crave chocolate, but this is not a normal crave. I feel like I need chocolate, I have to have it and I know it's the only thing that will get rid of the pain and normally within 10 minutes it's gone! I take pain killer s etc and often they help bit sometimes it's like I can feel it's chocolate headaches and it winter shift without it. I'm not complaining, I absolutely adore chocolate I just wondered if anyone knew why this might be?

Maybe it's because you may not have enough sugar in your body and that is why you are getting a headache and since milk chocolate has sugar in it, it replenishes the body and gets rid of the headache.(this is just a guess but i see it as something logical).

It is an aphrodisiac. The headache is caused by a surplus of neurotransmitters hitting receptors. The chocolate blocks some of these receptors, making that condition a bit more bearable.

A lot of people (like me) get headaches when their blood sugar is low so having chocolate helps set your sugar back to normal and your headache goes away :)
