I am a drummer, so I thought it could also be caused by that. I'm just not really sure what I should do about it.

Are you also having tingling or weird feel in you thumb and index finger? Carpal Tunnel syndrome leads to weakness of thumb n u cant oppose it with rest of his fingers.. there's difficulty in fine movements like holding a pen or spoon. Holding a drumstick is more of a gross movement at the wrist. Did you ever have a fracture at the wrist?

Try resting your wrist for a few days. It might be tendonitis or ligamentous or capsular tear of the wrist joint. Use a local painkiller gel and hot fomentation for a week.

if it still persists then contact your orthopaedician!

Sounds like maybe a repetitive motion injury. I have lateral epicondilitus (tennis elbow). I use a brace and have cortisone injections which really help with the pain. You should go to the dr. though to find out for sure.

Yeah, sounds like an RSI (repetitive strain injury). I suggest seeing a structural integration practitioner (Hellerwork or Rolfing). They are the ones that have helped me more than anything (and I've tried a lot).

I also highly recommend Sharon Butler's website, see below
