I have been going for treatment on my Cervical (neck ) spine for herniated discs, in which I had told the chiropractor no manipulations of my neck as he obliged and used heat/and electric stim. I had absolutely no problem with my mid thoracic back, but he had adjusted this area because he said it affects you neck as well. I have had nothing but constant pain in my midle back after these adjustments total of 6.. Can i bring a lawsuit against him for casuing me pain in my middle back? He helped me with my neck, but caused me mid back pain that has been hurting me for 3 weeks.. Can I legititmatly file a lawsuit for this? Thank you so much.. I cannot sit without pain at my job and am in constant pain..

You can sue for anything but, I am really sorry to say, it will probably difficult to win or even find an attorney to take your case. The problem is in the proof-- the chiropractic community is tight and whenever a suit comes up against them, they argue that something else could have caused your condition.

Talk to a lawyer and check into some of the patient/victim advocacy groups to find out if it is worth your while.

If you filed for that, you would get laughed at. It is not likely that he did anything but a short, quick adjustment. In this case, when he adjusted you, he re-aligned your thoracic area and you are feeling the pain (I would guess a dull achy pain) because your body has been out of alignment for a long time. It will take time to re-train your body to go back to the position that it should be in. I would also recommend that instead of not getting your neck adjusted, that you at least try. There is a technique called Activator, where they use a hand held instrument to apply a quick light force. It doesn't hurt at all but can re-align your neck to where it should be. I hope this helps. P.S. there is no research to support the claim that chiropractic causes stroke, those who have one were in the midst of one before going into the office. You are just as likely to have a stroke at an MD's office or getting your hair washed at a salon...

it sounds like you need adjustment in the middle of your back I have the very same problem you described the pain also affects my lower ribs about 5to 6 visits and my chiropractor has me aliened again I do very physical work so I have to go through this 1or2 times a year on a couple visits I have come out feeling worse than when I went in but my next visit he had me feeling good again, tell him what is going on and give him a chance if he fixed your neck he can fix your back
